North East weather: Hour-by-hour forecast as region set for cool and cloudy day

Clouds are expected to dominate the North East skyline once again ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend.

According to the Met Office, the region will have a widely chilly and frosty start to Thursday. Otherwise, the forecast shows a fine and dry day with a mix of cloudy periods and sunny spells.

It will be brightest in the north and west and light winds are to be expected. It will most likely feel a little warmer away from North Sea coastal areas with temperatures reaching 13 °C.

Tonight, cloud will break during the evening to leave largely clear skies overnight. Patchy frost is likely to form by dawn under clear skies and light winds with temperatures falling as low as -1 °C.
