North East virtual craft market offers some easy Sunday evening shopping

Craft and gift businesses across the North East will be showcasing their products this Sunday evening in a virtual market.

Keen shoppers will be able to browse and buy from the comfort of their sofas as businesses pitch their goods, ranging from hand-made cards to Christmas gift ideas, at the free-to-attend event.

The market - being hosted by Events2gogo which organises and promotes craft markets and gift company Lexy Sparkles - is intended to help small independent businesses during tough times.

Among those taking part, who will be selling and distributing their own products, will be Totes Eco offering green, plastic-free products such as reusable make-up wipes and bamboo toothbrushes; Rebecca's Bookshop with the likes of children's stories; Little Magpye selling hand-made jewellery and PEG Creations which makes sustainable art.

Another business, Fru Fru, which will be offering customers the likes of soaps and bath bombs, including Halloween-theme ones, says: "It’s extremely difficult for crafters at the moment with the majority of markets and fayres cancelled due to Covid and bad weather so we’re hoping you’ll join us from the comfort of your sofa tonight. "

Business will have staggered pitch times and shopping will start at 6pm and run until 9pm so that customers can dip in and out as they choose. To see the list of sellers and for more on the event see its Facebook page here.
