The North East looks set for a mix of springtime conditions over the bank holiday weekend.
According to the Met Office, the weather is expected to be mixed with sun and rainy spells over the bank holiday weekend. With many looking to make plans with family and friends over the period, Saturday looks like it will be the most settled day with conditions for the remainder of the bank holiday mixed.
This forms part of a similar trend across the country where Brits are set to enjoy a mix of springtime weather this bank holiday, with some of the country bathing in near 20C temperatures, with cloud and wind in others.

The forecast for the North East is as follows according to the Met Office:
"Saturday widely bright and settled. Cloud building overnight into Sunday with outbreaks of rain. Largely cloudy Sunday and Monday with further patchy rain or showers but also some sunny spells."
Nationwide, this month has been dry so far, especially in the south where levels of rain are as low as 30% of the normal for the month. This is set to continue in some areas, although a low-pressure system moving in from the northwest on Saturday threatens to ruin some barbecue plans.
On Sunday this system will gradually sink south, taking clouds and outbreaks of rain to many southern areas of the UK. In the north, conditions will become brighter with some spells of sunshine developing but also a few showers.
On bank holiday Monday there will be cloudy conditions across the UK with some showers, as well as the odd burst of sunshine.
Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist David Oliver said: “It is a different mix of weather this bank holiday weekend after what has been a largely settled week for the UK.
“The high-pressure that has been dominating the UK in recent days will move away to the south, allowing a low-pressure system to move in from the northwest. This will bring with it some more unsettled weather with showers or some longer spells of rain across the north on Saturday and then southern areas on Sunday.
“A good deal of dry weather is expected on Monday with most areas only seeing some isolated showers and mild temperatures, widely in the mid-teens.”
The highest temperatures of the weekend are expected to be on Monday where the mercury could hit 17C. At night though it is due to remain cold with clear skies.
