North East pubs offer 50% off as they sign up to Eat Out to Help Out scheme

A leading pub company has announced a list of pubs across the North East which will be offering customers a 50% discount this summer.

Greene King has signed up to the Government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme which offers savings of up to £10 per person to those eating out during August.

The brewer says that its managed brands across the region, which include Greene King Locals, Hungry Horse, Farmhouse Inns, Chef & Brewer and Flaming Grill, will participate in the scheme.

This includes Newcastle boozers Crow’s Nest and The Junction in the city centre and Fox & Hounds in Benwell where customers can use the discount on such pub classics as fish and chips and burgers.

The offer applies to food and soft drinks and will run between Mondays and Wednesdays throughout August.

A spokesperson for Greene King, which this month reopened venues with a new Pub Safe promise in place, said: “We welcome the introduction of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme and we hope that it will be a great encouragement for customers to support the nation’s pubs.

“Our pubs are at the heart of their communities and through this discount we hope that it will broaden the opportunity for locals to enjoy a long overdue and well-deserved meal with their loved ones.”
