Which postcodes in the North East saw the biggest increases in house prices this year, and where did prices fall.
Figures from the Land Registry for the year to October (the most recent available) show the median price in NE1 was £150,000.
That was a 84.6% rise from £181,250 in the year to October 2020 - the biggest rise for postcodes covering the North East .
In TS28, prices fell by 20.0% in the year to October 2021, down from an average of £100,000 to £80,000. That was the biggest fall locally.

The most expensive postcode in the North East was NE69, with an average price of £555,000, which was up 68.2% from £330,000.
The least expensive postcode in the North East, and in England and Wales, was DL17, between Darlington and Durham, where the average house price was £50,750, based on 316 sales.
That was also up by 3.0% from £49,250 a year earlier.
Changes in price may be due to more demand pushing up prices or a changing type of property being sold in the area, particularly if new homes have been built.
Sold prices are taken from the Land Registry’s price paid data. Areas with three or fewer sales in either the year to October 2020 or the year to October 2021 have been excluded.
The most expensive postcode in England and Wales last year was W1K, or Mayfair, where the average price, based on 69 sales, was £4.22 million.
That was up 15.8% from £3.65 million in the year to October 2020.
Prices were growing fastest in SA36, in Pembrokeshire, where they have jumped 117.4% in a year from £97,500 to £212,000, although there were only four sales in each of the years.
