Winter is in full swing with the New Year fast approaching, and the weather has been relentlessly wintry over the past month - with showers, snow and cloudy skies.
And Thursday's weather shows no signs of letting up just yet, with high winds and a substantial chance of rain. While the day will start off with sunny intervals, showers will soon roll in and ruin any chances of a dry day in the North East.
Friday's forecast sees the rain continue, overcast in the morning with precipitation coming at noon. However, any rain will dry up by mid-afternoon, making way for a clear evening and night.
