North Dublin schoolboy dons hilarious 'Applegreen Rat' Halloween costume for last day of school

A north Dublin schoolboy is sure to have cracked his classmates up this morning when he arrived into school this morning dressed as the infamous "Applegreen Rat".

Kaylen O'Sullivan, nine, went into St Brendan's NS in Loughshinny in the hilarious costume that was inspired by a video that made international headlines earlier this year.

The video, which shows a large rat climbing out of a sliced pan before scurrying across the counter in a west Dublin garage, went viral in September.

Third class pupil Kaylen is an avid YouTube fan and thought the video was hilarious.

With a little help from his mum Amy, Kaylen put together the costume which features a rat's head poking out of a sliced pan, just like in the video.

Kaylen's little sister Charley, six, is a first class pupil in St Brendan's and she got in on the fun by dressing up as her hero, singer Ariana Grande.

Amy told Dublin Live her son has "a great sense of humour".

And with genius ideas like that, we can only heartily agree with her verdict.
