North Dublin restaurant forced to close after staff named close contact for Covid-19

A popular north Dublin restaurant was forced to shut its doors to the pub after a staff member was notified as being a close contact.

Chungs Chinese Restaurant in Donabate said they will be cancelling all their bookings for the next two weeks - including all their New Year's Eve bookings.

A spokesperson for the restaurant said that any customers who paid the deposit will be contacted.

They said on Facebook: "Unfortunately, we have been advised to close the restaurant due to a staff member’s close contact testing positive.

"For the safety of our customers we will have to cancel all our bookings for the next 2 weeks, including all New Years Eve bookings.

"Any customers with deposits will be contacted. From all of us at Chung’s, we apologise for this inconvenience. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the New Year."
