North Dublin lads team up to launch Ireland's first triathlon coaching cert

Two North Dublin lads have launched Ireland's first triathlon coaching course and it sounds perfect for budding trainers coming into the new year.

Coolock's own Michael Keogh, who runs Keoghfit, has joined up with Keith Martin over in FitCert to help people get started in careers teaching people how to do the gruelling endurance challenge.

Fitcert, which has been running for the last seven years, has been a brilliant asset for the area as its courses have helped countless fitness fanatics set themselves up for careers.

Now with Keogh on board the lads have made a small bit of history as he'll be teaching students the best ways to motivate and prepare their clients for the big events.

The course is part-time and those who work hard through the fourteen weeks will also get themselves an internationally recognised ITEC Instructor qualification.

Registrations opened just last Friday with Michael telling Dublin Live that they've managed to make it "covid proof" so the world's circumstances won't affect the running of classes.

He said" The TCC [Triathlon Coaching Certificate] team has put long hours into this project since Covid hit us hard.

"As I’m a gym owner I felt the full financial effected of the virus. We know training people virtually through online content and potentially 100% outdoor activity’s makes it covid-proof coaching.

"With no other official triathlon course like this we want to raise the standard and safety of triathlon coaching across Ireland."

Keith, who's FitCert courses are well established, says the latest venture will continue to help students set up top coaching businesses for themselves in future.
