A North Dublin schoolboy club are set for a massive €500,000 windfall after Matt Doherty's move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Belvedere FC, one of Dublin's top schoolboy clubs, will be entitled to two slices of the €16 million fee, according to the Irish Mirror.
€169,000 is due in compensation from Fifa, as Doherty spent some of his early days in football with the club.
And Belvo will also get their hands on a hefty 20% cut of Bohemians' €1.48 million windfall from the transfer, after getting in on the sell-on clause Bohs' struck with Wolves when Doherty moved to the Midlands back in 2010.
28-year-old Doherty gained two promotions with Wolves and has starred in the Premier League with Nuno Espirito Santo's side since they climbed back up to the top flight in 2018.
The Dubliner racked up 300 games in total for the club he joined from Bohs in 2010.
Doherty is one of a number of top players who have graduated through Belvo's ranks, with the club having developed 14 full Irish internationals since they were formed in 1971.
Curtis Fleming, Stephen Kelly, David Forde, Richie Sadlier, Wes Hoolahan, and the most recent addition to that list, Troy Parrott, are among the names the club can count as former stars.
