North Dublin area plagued by multiple car fires over three days

A north Dublin area has seen a jump in car fire as multiple blazes were reported over the last 72 hours.

As many as three vehicles have gone up in flames in Kilbarrack since Sunday night.

The latest incident happened on Swans Nest Avenue as residents spotted plumes of smoke rising from a burning car this morning.

Additionally, gardai were alerted to the scene of a car on fire in the same area on Monday afternoon at 4.23pm.

Dublin Fire Brigade also attended the scene to extinguish the flames.

A garda spokesman confirmed that no injuries were reported. Additionally, no offences have been disclosed in relation to the incident.

Firefighters from Kilbarrack also tackled another car blaze on Sunday night.

A spokesperson said: "The car was fully involved and a high pressure hose reel was used to extinguish the fire. Over 1000 litres of water can be used at a call like this."
