Auburn has an impressive, amazing offense, but that was incredible.
Kansas really does have a terrific defense, and it got ripped to shreds by an unrelenting Tiger O that was on fire out of the gate, and answered every push with a good run in the 89-75 win. Bryce Brown led the way with 25 points, but four Tigers finished in double digits.
One of the nation’s best teams from three, Auburn connected on 43% from the outside, and managed to push out to a 51-25 lead that was more than enough of a cushion. But what happens if the threes aren’t falling? If they are, good luck keeping pace. But they’re always going to get hammered on the boards and as the first round game against New Mexico State showed, there are going to be defensive lapses.

No drama, no issues, no problems. North Carolina look over the game against Washington from the start, got the offense rolling from inside and out, and comfortably moved on to the Sweet 16 with a 81-59 win.
It helped that the Huskies couldn’t hit a free throw – and struggling from the field wasn’t a problem – but this was all about the Tar Heel rebounding ability and getting on the move. UNC double up UW 48-24 on the boards.
North Carolina destroys everyone on the boards, but Auburn is good at attacking the glass. The Tar Heel D might give up a ton of points, but …
What’s Going To Happen
Auburn can put up points in bunches, but North Carolina is a machine. It ability to score in a variety of ways, get on the move, and get production from everywhere will overcome an occasional barrage of Auburn threes. The Tigers will keep up for a little while, the the Tar Heel advantage on the glass will be the difference late.
