North Carolina QB Sam Howell to declare for 2022 NFL draft

One of the top quarterbacks in the country is leaving school early for the next level.

North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell is foregoing his remaining college eligibility and will enter the 2022 NFL draft. The former top high school recruit made his announcement Saturday via social media, with a heartfelt statement regarding his time in Chapel Hill.

After a forgettable season opener against Virginia Tech, Howell put together a solid 2021 campaign, and should be among the first quarterbacks off the board in next year’s draft.
