North Bristol NHS Trust which runs Southmead Hospital is now open to visitors who wish to see inpatients,.
It's in line with national guidance which has allowed the Trust to make changes to its visiting arrangements., as reported by Bristol Live on Tuesday.
For those who wish to visit in patients at Southmead Hospital this is everything you need to know.
Masks must be worn at all times by visitors.
A single visit per patient is now allowed between 11am and 7pm by a family member of friend as nominated by the patient each day which can include:
- A single visit per patient is permitted a day by a family member or friend as nominated by the patient. The patient can be visited by different family members or friends during their admission.
- A single birth partner whilst a woman is in labour;
- One parent if a patient is 18 years or under; The patient can be visited by different family members or friends during their admission
- A carer if the patient has a Learning Disability or dementia with specific needs that require support from that carer
If you are attending an outpatient appointment / for treatment the advice is to arrive on your own, unless accompanied by a carer.
Patients may be accompanied where it is appropriate and necessary to assist with the patients communication and/or to meet the patients immediate health and social care needs.
- A carer is permitted to attend with an Outpatient if they have a Learning Disability or Dementia with specific needs that require support from a carer.
- One parent is permitted if a patient is 18 years or under.
- Patients are able to attend with 1 other person when they require emotional support during attendance to Outpatients.
