North Belfast stabbing incident leaves man in hospital

A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital following a stabbing incident in North Belfast.

Officers were called to the scene at a flat on the Antrim Road at 2:15pm on Thursday afternoon.

The man is currently in hospital receiving treatment for his injuries, police say.

Detective Sergeant O’Flaherty said: “A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody, assisting with our enquiries.

“Our enquiries continue and I would appeal to anyone with information to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 898 of 11/03/21.”
