North Belfast mum forced to leave home after 'Taigs Out warning'

A single mother and her four children have had to leave their home after receiving a "warning" in the post.

The Ardoyne family also had their windows smashed and home attacked, forcing them to flee to a family members house to live.

It is believed that the PSNI advised the family to leave their homes today after a letter saying "1st warning. Taigs Out. Community will not tolerate" was posted through their letterbox.

SDLP Councillor Paul McCusker said: "Disgusted and angry that a mother and four children had to leave their home in North Belfast due to receiving “Taigs Out” in the post and her home has been attacked.

"PSNI advised this lady to leave for her own safety. This lady and kids are now with family. Those involved in this need to go away, you represent no one."

Belfast Live have contacted the PSNI for a statement.
