North Belfast 'hit and run incident' leads to arrest of man and woman

A man and woman have been arrested after a reported hit and run incident in North Belfast.

Police say it was reported that around 10.30pm on Friday, July 17 a grey BMW mounted the kerb in the Antrim Road area of the city and struck a man in his 40s.

Chief Inspector Kelly Moore explained: “At around 10:30pm, it was reported that a grey BMW 118I car mounted the kerb and struck a man in his 40s. It is believed that a male and female then exited the vehicle and assaulted the man in the area.

"The male is believed to have suffered a broken leg following the incident."

A 40-year-old male and a 38-year-old female were arrested following the incident and have since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police would continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious in the area and has dashcam footage, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 2109 17/07/20.  You can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
