A delivery driver has been pulled out of his van before the vehicle was hijacked, police say.

Detectives are appealing for information following a report of the incident of in North Belfast earlier today (Tuesday).

The white Ford Transit van was parked outside an address in the Cliftonville Road area around 4.15pm when the hijacking occurred.

Detective Sergeant Duffield said: “The driver was parked up preparing to make a delivery. He was then pulled out of the van by the hood of his jacket and he fell on to the road.

"Thankfully, he was not injured. However, when he looked up, he saw a male in the driver’s seat. The hijacker then drove off in the van in the direction of the Oldpark Road.

“Our enquiries continue and I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed the white van in the area at that time or has dashcam footage to contact us on 101 quoting reference 1198 30/11/21.”
