North Belfast 'aggravated burglary' investigated by PSNI

Police are investigating after a man suffered head injuries in an alleged aggravated burglary on Tuesday night.

It was reported that a man forced entry into a house in Keadyville Avenue off the Shore Road in North Belfast at around 7pm.

The occupant was allegedly threatened and sustained minor head injuries.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident.

PSNI Detective Sergeant William Arnott: "A short time later police arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm.

"Police also arrested the 36-year-old male occupant on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

"Both men remain in custody at this time.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around this time and witnessed what occurred to get in touch with detectives on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1760 of 24/09/19."
