North Ayrshire road to be closed for five nights running starting this weekend

Irvine and Kilwinning motorists should plan ahead if they regularly use the A737 road as essential roadworks are about to take place.

The £140,000 works will take place overnight on the A737 Manrahead Roundabout to Whitestanes, south of Beith.

This work will take place between 8pm and 6am, each night, from Saturday, October 24, to Thursday, October 29.

In addition, five consecutive night time closures of the A737 carriageway at this location will take place between 8pm and 6am, with a signed diversion route in operation.

Traffic will be directed to join the B777 to B780 Dalry Road, and from here will travel to re-join the A737 at Dalry.

This scheme has been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, bus operators and North Ayrshire Council.

Amey, who are carrying out the works, say they will benefit around 8000 road users travelling on this stretch of the A737 each day.

Works may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
