North Ayrshire police appeal for information after 14 parked vehicles were damaged

Police in North Ayrshire are appealing for information and witnesses after a number of vehicles in Saltcoats were damaged this week.

Between 2am and 3.30am on Monday, August 12, 14 vehicles parked in the Springvale Street, Springvale Place and Bute Terrace area were vandalised.

Inspector Colin Convery of Saltcoats Police Office said: “This incident disgusts me, that individuals could do such damage with a complete disregard for the owners of the cars.

"Anti-social behaviour like this has a detrimental impact on local communities not to mention the financial costs to victims.

“Enquiries are ongoing into these incidents including the review of CCTV, house to house enquiries and capturing all forensic opportunities.

“I would encourage anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or indeed anyone who has knowledge of those responsible to please contact us.”

Anyone with information should call Police Scotland via the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 0460 of the 12/08/2019, or alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 where anomymity can be maintained.
