Crusaders have paid tribute to Seaview legend Norman Pavis following the death of the former Shore Road hero.
Mr Pavis passed away on Thursday, the club announced.
Norman - whose brother and - became a cult figure with the Hatchetmen during the 1960s with his tough-tackling reputation.
Such was his legendary status at Crusaders, that fans voted Norman into the North Belfast club's Hall of Fame in 2007.
Crusaders chairman Ronnie Millar paid tribute to the club icon on Thursday night.
In a statement posted on the club's social media channels, Millar said: "It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the passing of Norman Pavis.
"He was a wonderful tough tackling player for Crusaders and the nickname of the Club "Hatchetmen" could have been made just for him.
"Many many players in the Irish League feared him and they certainly knew they where on the field with him at the end of 90 minutes.
"Can I on behalf of the Club pass on our sincere and deepest sympathies to the entire Pavis family circle on the passing of Norman and we will have them in our thoughts and prayers over the following days.
"Rest in Peace Norman.
"A true Hatchetman."
Pavis was a colossus of a player and man, a destroyer on the pitch but also a superbly gifted footballer.
He also won an amateur International cap in 1959 against England at Solitude.
