Normal service resumes for Grangemouth Children's Day with parade and public crowning planned

The organisers of Grangemouth Children's Day say that normal service will resume this year with a parade and public crowning of the Queen.

Due to coronavirus there has been no public gathering for the past two years, but plans are in place for a pre-pandemic event on Saturday June 18.

It means hundreds of locals will be able to line the streets and pupils from all four primary schools in the town can take part in the annual parade.

This years Queen is Kiera Kane from Beancross Primary School.

Maids of Honour include Lauryn Madden and Sophia Donnelly.

Austen Henderson and Owen Niblo have been selected as Paige Boys.

And Amelia Mullen as a Flower Girl.

Secretary Marie Komorowska told Falkirk Live: "The committee are so excited to see the children’s day returning to Zetland Park this summer.

"The park will be looking amazing after all the improvement works and we’re sure Queen Elect Keira and her retinue will do a fantastic job representing Beancross Primary School.

"Fingers crossed now that hopefully the sunshine makes an appearance."
