Normal People set to return for two more episodes

Normal People was hugely successful when it aired on BBC.

The series is an adaptation of the bestselling novel written by Sally Rooney and follows the story of two students Connell (Paul Mescal) and Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones).

People were hooked on the show during lockdown with many watching it for a second and even a third time.

Those missing it will be pleased to know there are two more episodes coming to screens, and both feature popular actors Paul and Daisy.

You’ll soon be able to find out what Marianne and Connel are up to 40 years later.

The two upcoming specials will air on June 26 on RTÉ Does Comic Relief in Ireland, reports The Mirror.

Comic Relief's co-founder Richard Curtis confirmed the exciting news when speaking to RTÉ radio.

He said: "There's a beautiful piece called Normal Older People, which is imagining what would have happened to Marianne and Connell 40 years from now.

"I promise you, these are two very special bits. It's so much better than anything we've ever made."

He continued: "I mean I can't even say all about it because there's a guest star in it. But it's really, it's really beautiful."

The organiser also praised Comic Relief over the opportunities it has provided.

He added: "One of the things about Comic Relief is it just gives opportunities for things to happen that would never happen.

"I can't imagine any context in which they would have allowed this little sort of extra special into the world of Normal People."
