Fans of Normal People will be able to get a their fix of heartthrob Paul Mescal once again as he takes on a new role in thriller The Deceived.
The four-part psychological thriller was filmed on location in Northern Ireland and was written by Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee and Tobias Beer.
A first look teaser has been released for the new Channel 5 series which also stars Emmett J. Scanlan (Hollyoaks & Peaky Blinders) Catherine Walker (Versailles), Eleanor Methven (Little Women) Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones), Shelley Conn (Liar) and Dempsey Bovell (Patrick Melrose).
Paul Mescal plays a confidante to lead heroine Ophelia (Emily Reid), who begins dating her lecturer, resulting in a dramatic chain of events where the affair is interrupted by a horrific death.
Speaking about the show, Executive producer Charlie Hampton of New Pictures told the Daily Mail : "The Deceived is a psychological relationship thriller that will have the audience questioning everything and will hopefully leave them wanting more."
"We wanted to make a show that nods to classic thrillers but also make something really modern that speaks to a contemporary audience."
The Deceived will air on Channel 5 later this year, while Normal People is available now on BBC iPlayer.
