Normal People fans slam Emmys snub as Paul Mescal's co-star Daisy Edgar Jones misses out

Irish drama series Normal People 's lead actor Paul Mescal has been nominated for an Emmy Award.

But despite the exciting news, the show's fans have expressed their frustration that Paul's co-star Daisy Edgar Jones was snubbed of a nomination, despite playing just as important of a character as his.

Paul - who plays Connell Waldron in the hit BBC series - is up for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie, while Daisy - who plays Marianne Sheridan - remains empty-handed.

Fans rushed to social media to slam the decision, as they fumed over the "sexist" snub.

One fan wrote on Twitter : "Outrageous snub for Daisy Edgar Jones in #EmmyNoms obscenely racist and sexist industry #Emmys2020."
