Norbert Novenyi promises 'lots of blood' in Will Fleury clash at Bellator Dublin

Bellator Dublin's main card clash between Norbert Novenyi and Will Fleury will be a gorey affair, according to the Englishman.

The pair trained together at London Shootfighters for a brief period when Tipperary-native Fleury lived in the UK, but never fully sparred.

And now both men are prepared for war at the 3 Arena when they square off on the Sky Sports portion of the sold-out event.

Speaking with the Irish Mirror, Novenyi said: "Irish fans, all kinds of fans actually, want blood, and you're going to see a lot of blood.

"Some of it's going to be mine, but mainly it's going to be his and I am so excited for it."

The British middleweight, who is the son of the Hungarian wrestling and kickboxing legend of the same name, also admitted that the prospect of fighting in his opponent's home country excites him.

"The only reason they're going to boo me is because I'm not Irish," he said. "Hopefully after this fight they're not going to look at me like that and cheer me the same way.

"I'm excited for it, I've fought in arenas where everybody is chanting my name like in Hungary, where I'm from and that was mental.

"This one is going to make me feel it and I want to hear the boos, it's going to give me a bit more power."

Meanwhile, Will Fleury has been complimentary of his opponent's skillset, but believes his experience will give him the edge in the contest.

"I think Norbert is a very solid fighter," Fleury said. "He's a very good wrestler but he has a little bit of a lack of experience so far.

"He hasn't fought anybody who has truly tested him yet and I think this is the first real fight he will have been in.

"He's going to struggle with the atmosphere in Ireland and with the buzz that the whole night is going to have around it."

Tickets for Bellator Dublin are on sale now through Ticketmaster.ie  and  Bellator.com , as well as the 3Arena box office.
