Nora Quoirin's family to ask for second autopsy on jungle teenager's body in London

The family of the teenager who died in the Malaysian jungle are considering asking for a second autopsy on her body.

Nora Quoirin’s mum Meabh and dad Sebastien want to be sure doctors haven’t missed evidence.

It is understood they may ask for an autopsy in London, where they live, or in Sebastien’s native France, where police are investigating.

A well-placed source said: “They are thinking about it and deliberating.”

The couple said: “Our beautiful innocent girl died in extremely complex circumstances, and we are hoping that soon we will have more answers to our many questions.”

Nora, 15, had a brain condition which caused difficulty with walking and balance.

Her body was found on Tuesday, 10 days after she vanished from the rainforest resort where her family were on holiday. She was discovered one-and-a-half miles from the resort in an area previously covered in a huge search.

She was last seen in her family’s villa on August 4, hours after they arrived.

Malaysian police say there is no evidence of foul play, and after suffering starvation and stress. But the couple’s lawyer says the family still believe she could have been led away from the cottage.

Jim Gamble, former head of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, is also advising the family. He said: “They have always had a question mark of whether there was any criminal activity.

“The downstairs window in the villa was broken and could have been opened from outside.

“We know why Nora died – in simple terms, from starvation. We know where she ended up, but we don’t necessarily know how she got there. We need to keep an open mind.”
