Nora Quoirin died as a result of 'hunger and stress' autopsy reveals

Malaysian authorities say that Nora Quoirin died as a result of hunger and stress.

A post-mortem revealed that there was no evidence that the 15-year-old Irish-French girl had been raped on kidnapped.

The remains of the teen, who suffered from learning difficulties, were found after extensive searching on Tuesday, August 13.

This came 10 days after she went missing from a rain forest resort in Seremban, more than 40 miles south of the Malaysian capital.

Police say that an autopsy carried out on Wednesday showed that the teen suffered intestinal damage due to prolonged hunger and stress.

She was estimated to have been dead for up to three days when her body was found, according to investigators .

A hiker who was part of the team that found her body said that she looked like she was sleeping as she lay in plain sight.

Sean Yeap previously claimed that Nora’s body was not hidden or covered, laying with her hands behind her head.

But added the place where her body was found was not easy to find.

Her mother, Meabh, paid tribute to the tragic teen shortly after the confirmation that her daughter had been found by police.

She said: “Nora is our first child.

"She has been vulnerable since the day she was born.

"She is so precious to us and our hearts are breaking.”

Her family also added: “Nora is a very special person. She is fun, funny, and extremely loving. With her family, she is very affectionate - family is her whole world.

"She is not like other teenagers. She is not independent and does not go anywhere alone."
