Noodle bar doubles presence in city with new restaurant

Chopstix, the Asian restaurant chain which now has almost 40 outlets across the UK, is today opening its eight site in Scotland with a second location in Glasgow.

The noodle brand will open in Silverburn shopping centre to add to its existing store in Union Street.

The company said the move is part of its ongoing expansion across the UK over the next 12 months and further adds to its growing number of sites in high-footfall shopping centres, high streets and travel hubs.

Chopstix Group founders Sam Elia and Menashe Sadik have significantly grown the business in recent years. It also operates the Yangtze chain.

Last year the group appointed industry veteran Jon Lake as managing director.

Lake previously help number of key roles within multinational organisations including Fine Food Capital where he was development director and Deloitte where he was director of M&A specialising in the licensed retail sector. Prior to that, Lake held senior management posts with both Punch and Whitbread.
