SEVEN new cases have been detected in Hunter New England health district in Sunday's update, with no patients in the region requiring intensive care.
Lake Macquarie had two cases in Macquarie Hills, while Midcoast added cases in Harirngton and Wingham.
Cessnock had a case in Abermain and Tamworth had two infections.
Hunter New England Health said four of the fresh cases are linked, two are unlinked and one remains under investigation.
Four isolated while infectious, two were in the community and the status of the seventh is yet to be determined.
The health district has 240 active cases of 4365 detected since the beginning of the outbreak in August.
Another eight cases were found on the Central Coast.
Statewide there were 286 cases and one death, a man in St George Hospital.
Health authorities said he had received two doses of vaccine and had underlying health conditions.
The Omicron variant continues to spread, with 15 confirmed cases. NSW Health said genomic testing results could push that number higher later on Sunday.
Five cases have so far been linked with a western Sydney cluster connected to Regents Park Christian School, Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym Villawood, and St Peter Chanel Catholic Primary School in Regents Park.
