Ten parties opposed to Tehran’s policies – jointly working under the name of “Non-Persian Peoples” – convened in London on Friday to announce their position on the US strategy against the Iranian regime.
In a press conference, the parties accused Iran of committing “serious attacks” on the basis of “hateful racial motives or the desire to expand its influence by spreading terrorism, disregarding states’ sovereignty… and threatening international peace and security.”
The statement carries the signatures of parties and organizations of Kurds, Ahwazi Arabs, Azerbaijani Turks, Baloch, Caspians and others.
The statement accused Iran of being “the most dangerous source of threat to international peace and security and the biggest financier of terrorism.”
It also pointed to the responsibility of the Iranian regime in “carrying out an aggression on dozens of countries,” including Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, Lebanon and Europe, through the support of militias and intelligence services.
“We back all regional and international measures to deter this rogue state… whether through economic sanctions or military action,” the statement said.
It added that the parties welcomed all measures taken by the US administration against the Iranian regime, including economic sanctions and the classification of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization.
The parties condemned the “Iranian piracy of civilian ships in the Arabian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz” and declared their full solidarity with Britain on the recent seizure of a British oil tanker.
They also called on the international community to “support the struggle of our peoples, their desire to free themselves from the hegemony of the Iranian state and their aspirations for the right to self-determination, as stipulated in the Charter of the United Nations.”
