One of the side benefits of the Cleveland Browns playing on Thursday night is the ability to focus on some of the rest of the NFL on Sunday. It’s a good Sunday to get better acquainted with what’s going on with other team, including the Browns’ next opponent.
First up, a look around the AFC North…
Denver at Pittsburgh – The Steelers look to go 2-0 against the winless Broncos. Denver couldn’t capitalize on several Titans mistakes in its Week 1 loss and now faces a Steelers team that rolled on Monday night. The Broncos don’t have Von Miller and they don’t have much of an offensive line. Those two make the Steelers 6.5-point favorites at BetMGM. The visitors could be lucky to stay within double that figure.
Baltimore at Houston – The Ravens hope to build off their dominating win over the Browns in Week 1, while the Texans are aiming to recover from getting waxed by the Chiefs in the season opener. If nothing else, the Lamar Jackson vs. Deshaun Watson matchup should be a fun one to watch.
Washington at Arizona – The Football Team will be in Cleveland in Week 3, but first they have a difficult road game against the 1-0 Cardinals. This game has a late-afternoon kickoff, so if you want to do some advance scouting it’s a good opportunity. It’s also a good chance to check out No. 2 overall pick Chase Young, who was a monster in Washington’s Week 1 win over the Eagles.
Atlanta at Dallas – The Browns visit the Cowboys in Week 4, so another chance for a little look ahead at an upcoming Browns foe. Both these teams lost in Week 1 in relatively disappointing fashion. If you watch, pay attention to the Dallas passing attack. Their banged-up OL isn’t what it used to be, but this is the best receiving corps Dak Prescott has ever had.
Carolina at Tampa Bay – Tom Brady in a Buccaneers uniform? Yep, and he should have a big day against the Panthers defense that got lit up by the Raiders in Week 1. Brady didn’t play well in Tampa Bay’s loss to New Orleans last week either, but the young Panthers defense isn’t the same caliber as the Saints.
