Nolan sisters Anne and Linda both fighting cancer at the same time

There is fresh heartbreak for the Nolan family after sisters Anne and Linda have revealed they are both battling cancer at the same time, seven years after their sibling Bernie died from the disease.

The Nolans shot to fame over 40 years ago with a number of chart hits, most famously I'm In The Mood for Dancing and since then, many of the sisters have stayed in the limelight, with them even touring the country again in 2009 and Linda, 61, and younger sister Coleen both being contestants on Celebrity Big Brother, with Coleen also famous for being a Loose Women panellist.

Bernie, who died in 2010 aged just 52, starred in The Bill and Brookside and both Anne and Maureen have performed on stage in a number of different production.

Linda's incurable cancer is in her liver and she previously battled breast cancer in 2006, cellulitis and lymphoedema in her arm in 2007 and secondary cancer on her pelvis in 2017 and Anne, 69, has stage three breast cancer.

Both women got their diagnosis after returning home from filming the sisters' new Quest Red TV show The Nolans Go Cruising and endured a round of chemotherapy together last month.

Eldest Nolan sister Anne told The Sun, she said: "I don’t want to die. I love my life so much.

“I love my daughters, my grandchildren, my friends, all my family. I want to live for as long as I possibly can. I am scared of dying as well."

Linda added: "I thought my scans would just be fine as they normally are.

“It’s just really hard and I’m scared of dying. I don’t want to die.

“I want to be around and see my great nieces and nephews grow up, and that’s why I’m putting everything I’ve got into trying to get well.”
