From the Motorola Razr to the LG VX-6000, flip phones were one of the biggest tech trends in the 2000s.
Now, Nokia is having a retro revival, launching a brand new flip phone at the IFA technology conference this week.
The phone is called the Nokia 2720 Flip, and features a familiar flip-open design, but also has a range of modern features.
Nokia explained: “Bringing modern features to fans, the Nokia 2720 Flip comes with WhatsApp and Facebook to make sure you’re connected to what matters.
“And with The Google Assistant just a button-push away, fans can get more done with just their voice.”
Other key features include an emergency button, as well as an ICE (In Case of Emergency) information menu.
Nokia added: “The Nokia 2720 Flip is not only an ideal companion for when you are looking for a digital detox, but it can be the perfect phone for keeping your loved ones with accessibility needs connected.”
It remains unclear when the phone will be available to buy, and how much it will cost.
This isn’t the first time that Nokia has launched a retro phone.
Last year it brought out a new version of the 8110, widely known as the ‘banana phone’, while in 2017 it relaunched the 3310.
