A woman threatened to slit her neighbours’ throats over a dispute about noise.
Jacqueline Murphy shouted homophobic remarks at her neighbours, who are in a same-sex relationship, after they complained about loud football chants.
The 35-year-old, who lived directly above the couple at Young Street in Ayr, starting shouting and playing loud music after the pair returned home from work on August 23. One witness banged the ceiling to try reduce the noise level but Murphy then turned up at their front door.
An argument broke out before one of the women ushered her partner back inside.
The couple later heard random shouting and swearing.
Depute fiscal Laurin Campbell said: “Witnesses could hear the accused shouting , ‘fat b****** d*** b******’ and ‘I’ll get you evicted’, and that she would slit their throats.”
Solicitor Steven Maxwell said Murphy “let her guard down”.
Mr Maxwell said: “Jacqueline Murphy had already put in for a flat swap.
“That application is pending and this won’t have helped either side going forward.”
Murphy, now of Crandleyhill Road, Prestwick, was fined £400, which she will pay at £40 per month.
