NOIDA: Gautam Budh Nagar reported 141 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday, which took the number of active cases to 698. The district has reported over 100 new cases daily for a week now.
According to the health department, six Covid patients are hospitalised at present — four at the Noida Covid hospital and two others at private hospitals. The patients admitted at the Noida Covid hospital include a 69-year-old woman with paralysis requiring oxygen support and a 12-year-old with fever. The other two patients at the facility are adult men with symptoms like fever, cough and cough. Doctors said most of the cases in the district are mild with fever, cough and cold and sore throat.
Meanwhile, Ghaziabad reported 50 new cases on Friday. The district now has 309 active patients with a positivity rate of 1.2%. A total of eight new cases were reported in schools in the district on the day, health officials said. After GB Nagar and Ghaziabad, Lucknow and Agra reported the maximum new cases in the state on Friday — 21 cases each. In terms of vaccination, GB Nagar administered 4,950 doses across all age groups on Friday, while Ghaziabad gave 1,0765 doses.
