Noida likely to follow Jewar airport model for heliport in Sector 151

NOIDA: A tender for setting up a heliport in Sector 151 A is likely to be floated this week, officials said.

The Noida Authority will follow the Jewar airport model and provide the land and development rights to a private agency for a period of 30 years after signing a concession agreement with it.

Authority officials said they were waiting for the formal approval of the UP government’s public-private-partnership bid evaluation committee before floating the tenders. “We have now got the go-ahead from the government to finalise the bid document and initiate the bidding process,” a senior official said. “We submitted all the documents related to the project before the evaluation committee on October 21.”

The Authority intends to offer 9.35 acres of land to the interested agency in Kambakshpur village to establish the heliport. An equity of Rs 43 crore will be required to develop the project. The agency will have to share its revenue with the Authority and the highest bidder who qualifies in the bidding exercise will be selected, the official said.

The Authority is planning to develop the helipad with four aprons which will have a capacity of housing 10 helicopters at any given time. The Authority expects working executives and travellers to use the helicopter service to reach the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar and IGI International Airport in Delhi. Besides, shuttle services to nearby tourist destinations will also be planned.

Sharing additional details about the project, the senior Authority official said that the terminal building is going to be planned over 500 sqm of land in a way that up to 20 passengers can be directed to the take-off site at a time.
