Greater Noida: Gautam Buddha University ties up with IETE for technical research

GREATER NOIDA: Gautam Buddha University (GBU) has become a member of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), the leading society for advancing the science and technology behind electronics, telecommunication and IT. The GBU student chapter aims to promote technical research with this collaboration.

“School of Information Communication Technology (ICT), Gautam Buddha University, has become an organisational member of IETE. The IETE students chapter was launched at an inauguration ceremony at the International Convention Centre, GBU, on Saturday,” said Professor Sanjay Sharma, the dean of the ICT school who initiated the whole process.

Chief guest Professor (retd Wing Cdr) P Prabhakar, president, IETE, India, said that the move would enable joint technical meetings, conferences, symposia, exhibitions. It would also promote research publications.

GBU vice-chancellor Professor RK Sinha said students should now pursue technical activities to improve their skillsets and combat competition. “Students should foray into the technical era of innovations by associating with technical organisations, setting up various centres to boost the technical domain of learning, research, product and project development,” said Sinha. He further added that the opening of the IETE students’ chapter and the association of the school of ICT with IETE would provide the much-needed impetus to the growth of GBU in the field of research and skill developments of students and faculty members.
