NOIDA: A couple and two of their neighbours were allegedly attacked by two youths on a bike after an argument on the road over rough driving in Sector 119.
Sushma Yadav, a consultant at a private company and a resident of Eldeco Aamantran, said in her complaint that she had just left the housing society in her car when the two men on the bike brushed past her vehicle. “I was taking a turn near Millennium School when the two bikers scraped past my car from the right. I didn’t react. But they stopped the bike and started banging on the window, signalling me to roll it down,” the complainant said.
When Sushma objected to their behaviour, they allegedly started abusing her. The woman dialled 112, but couldn’t get through to the police control room.
“It was busy all through. I tried 2-3 times, and then called my husband. He reached there within minutes. Initially, we thought the matter would end if we paid them some money. But then, they started hitting my husband. I, too, was heckled as others joined the two miscreants,” the woman said.
Some residents from the couple’s housing society rushed to their rescue. “There was a broken chair kept on the roadside. The miscreants attacked two of our neighbours who had come for our rescue with it. They were severely injured. While we attended to them, the duo started their bike and fled,” she said. Sushma’s husband works in an IT firm in the city.
Officers at Phase 3 police station said they had initiated a probe. “We have registered the complaint under relevant sections. Teams are scanning CCTV footage of the area. Those injured were sent for a medical examination. An investigation is underway,” a police officer said.
