Noggin by John Corey Whaley - review

John Corey Whaley, Noggin

Noggin is the unique and humorous story of 16 year old Travis who is awoken after five years, with his head attached to a new body. With the help of his friends, Kyle and Hatton, Travis learns to adjust to the changes both in society and in his family.

The book made me both laugh out loud and cry, yet somehow kept me desperate for more as I remained eager to discover how the situations would the evolve and revolve themselves.

Hatton is an instantly likeable character providing witty humour, tension-breaking characters, as well as open minded thoughts. Although the ending was abrupt and feeble the story kept me guessing until the last word.

John Corey Whaley turned a creative and unusual idea into a gripping page turner for young adult readers.
