Noel Gallagher will release unheard Oasis track online tonight

Noel Gallagher shocked his fans this morning after announcing that he will unveil an unreleased Oasis track online tonight.

The Oasis guitarist and singer-songwriter, who now performs as 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds', took to Twitter to tell fans the exciting news.

The rock star, from Manchester said after having a clear out of old blank looking CDs, he made the discovery.

He wrote: "Like the rest of the world I've had infinite time to kill lately so I thought I'd FINALLY look and find out what was actually on the HUNDREDS of faceless unmarked CDs I've got lying around in boxes at home."

And his Twitter followers were quick to express their excitement with hundreds of people retweeting and liking the post.

The star then revealed he thought the recording had been "lost forever" and decided to release it.

Noel claims that the only version of the track that is currently 'out there' is from an Oasis soundcheck in Hong Kong around 15 years ago.

The song, called Don't Stop, will be online from midnight.

Last month, Noel's brother and former band mate Liam demanded that Oasis reform to do a gig to raise funds for the NHS.

The pair fell out after a 'huge fight' where Liam smashed Noel's guitar just minutes before they were meant to appear on stage at Rock en Seine in 2009.
