Noel Gallagher slammed by Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall after saying they didn't deserve Brit award

Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall has fired back at Noel Gallagher's claim the girl band didn't deserve a Brit award.

The former Oasis songwriter claimed the girls were undeserving of the Brit award as bands don't write their own music anymore, a claim which Jade completely denied.

The 'Shout Out To My Ex' singer hit back at these remarks made by Noel, savagely saying he's 'not even the most successful star in his own family'.

On an upcoming episode of Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Jade said: ‘Noel did slag us off. Something about that we were undeserving of the Brit Award because we’re women and don’t – well we do write music – but he thinks we don’t write music.

"Yeah, shame really. Because you know, we are definitely the most successful girl group in the country, but he’s not even the most successful performer in his family!"

Jade, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards made headlines after becoming the first all girl group to take home the Best Group award.

Noel, who was nominated as part of Oasis for the award also in 1995, 1998, and 2003, told The Sun: "Little Mix, with the greatest respect, are not in the same league as Oasis. Not even in the same f*****g sport.

The 54-year-old rock star claimed their win highlighted a problem within the music industry resulting in a lack of bands nowadays.

He said: "It’s a symptom of the music business chasing the numbers – and there not being any bands or songwriters in those bands.

"Record company guys constantly say, 'Oh, these guys are the real deal'. And I think, “You wouldn’t know the real deal if it f****g bit you on the a**e, mate”.

"I don’t know what happened – I think it’s because bands are hard work."

Of course, Noel’s no stranger to that, having split from Oasis in 2009 amid a bitter feud with his brother Liam, which is still ongoing.

Liam has made it clear he’s up for a reunion, but Noel appears to be hesitant to do the same.

The younger Gallagher brother said on the Jonathan Ross Show last year: ‘I think we’re both the problem and the problem is that he thinks he’s not the problem.
