Noel Gallagher’s ex-wife Meg Mathews appeared to hint that they have rekindled their romance in her latest post.
The Oasis rocker, 58, and columnist, 59, were married from 1997 to 2001 and share daughter Anaïs Gallagher, 25.
Taking to Instagram, Mathews shared a screenshot of a recent Daily Mail article that claimed she and Gallagher had “come full circle” and are “on really good terms again” after his divorce from Sara MacDonald.
She echoed the headline, “Gallagher reunion: Part 2,” with her cryptic caption, which simply read: “Part 2.”
Fans flooded the comments with their speculation that the ‘90s couple are back together after 24 years.
“Are they back together? I hope so, you never ever get over first proper love or husband,” one wrote.
“Did I not predict this before the tour or ask if you were back together, I'm such an old romantic, I'd love this,” another added.
“Aw love this Meg, you and Noel back where you belong,” a third user commented.
Mathews’ post came just hours before Gallagher was seen leaving London nightspot Chiltern Firehouse with his rumoured girlfriend, Sally Fielding.
The Standard has contacted representatives for Gallagher and Mathews for comment.
A source in the Mail article from July that Mathews had shared on Instagram claimed: “Noel and Meg are on really good terms again, it’s like they have gone full circle.
“Noel can be a tricky character, but Meg gets him, she knew him when he was in his 20s. And while being in a high-profile marriage changed them, there is a lot of common ground there.
“Noel has had a horrid time. He was pretty scarred and upset by the whole divorce from Sara, but Meg was a rock. Time is a great healer, as they say, but they also have a shared history.”
The insider added that Mathews was “always in favour” of Gallagher and his brother Liam, 52, reuniting for the Oasis comeback tour.
Mathews and Gallagher married in Las Vegas in 1997 and split less than four years later.
Ahead of Oasis’ reunion tour, Mathews counted down the days by sharing loved-up photos with Gallagher from when they were married.
She attended the Britpop legends’ first concert in Cardiff on July 4 alongside her daughter Anaïs.
Gallagher married music publicist MacDonald in 2011 and they welcomed two sons - Donovan and Sonny.
The couple announced their split in January 2023.
