Noel Gallagher mocks Liam for inviting Peter Crouch to become a member of Oasis

Noel Gallagher, it’s fair to say, is not a fan of his brother, Liam.

“Nobody wants to be in a band with him apart from a load of indie Championship players,” he scoffs.

“Journeymen who are in it for all the crisps they can eat.”

Funnily enough, Liam has, genuinely, invited newly retired footballer Peter Crouch to become a member of his band.

“Liam Gallagher offered me a job as a musician the other day,” Peter tells Radio Times.

“He was like, ‘When we do a big gig, just learn the bass to one tune and you can come up and play with us’.

“I said I’d love to do that but I don’t have any musical talent.”

Noel would inevitably quip that his brother doesn’t either.

He has derided his former Oasis bandmate’s more recent offerings as “unsophisticated music for unsophisticated people made by an unsophisticated man” and “a load of bile... angry nonsense”.

Just making sure his feelings really were properly conveyed, he added to the Guardian: “I reckon if I put my two sons in a room – one’s nine and one’s 11 – for about 45 minutes, they could probably muster up something better than that new single of his.”

In case there was any doubt, it seems that much-mooted Oasis reunion is still quite a long way off.
