Noel Gallagher enjoys Leeds United dig after 'Stop Crying Frank Lampard' hit the headlines

Noel Gallagher turned the tables on Leeds United fans and their Frank Lampard take on the Oasis classic ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’ last night.

Last month, throughout the Championship play-off semi-final matches with Derby County, Whites supporters used the Manchester band’s song to wind up Lampard to great effect.

Lampard was asked about the song ahead of the Elland Road second leg and said it was fair game before singing the song himself after knocking United out.

The new chant has not gone unnoticed by the man who wrote the original song. Gallagher played at Manchester’s Heaton Park on Friday night and referenced it.

The Manchester City supporter asked: “Is there anyone here from Leeds?” Muted cheers were crushed by a chorus of boos and the long-standing “We all hate Leeds scum” chant.

Gallagher, as you have probably already worked out, went on to play the 2002 track, but it is not the first time the Oasis legend has addressed the Whites or their fans in recent years.

Where do we start with the former Oasis man? Firstly, he came to  First Direct Arena and slagged Leeds United off by calling them 'sh***y '.

Throughout the show, Gallagher, kept ‘mistakenly’ thinking he was in Newcastle and referring to the crowd as Geordies.

It was all in good humour, although the Leeds audience gave as good as they got by doing chants of 'Yorkshire, Yorkshire' and 'Liam, Liam' in reference to Gallagher's younger brother.

Then, when he took his Flying Birds to Scarborough, Gallagher,  took aim at fellow headliner Britney Spears  and at  Bingley Music Live he slagged this beautiful county of Yorkshire . His behaviour bagged himself a place of our  villains of 2018 shortlist .
