Noel Gallagher claims Man City 'won' at Liverpool as Mohamed Salah makes goal admission

Here is your Liverpool morning digest for Tuesday, October 5.

Noel Gallagher claims Man City 'effectively' beat Liverpool

Famous Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher has claimed that Manchester City’s performance at Anfield means they “effectively won the game”.

Mohamed Salah was the star for Liverpool in their 2-2 draw with Man City in the Premier League showdown at Anfield on Sunday.

Salah provided the assist for Sadio Mane to open the scoring, and then scored a sublime individual goal to take his tally for the campaign up to nine in all competitions.

In the first half, Liverpool sustained an immense amount of pressure from City, and held on to get to half time goalless.

Mohamed Salah makes Man City admission after Liverpool draw

Mohamed Salah has admitted that a draw was the fair result between Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Reds had to settle for a point at Anfield in their final league fixture before the October international break.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Liverpool, before Phil Foden equalised for the visitors.

Salah got his ninth goal of the season with a sublime individual effort, but it would prove not to be the winner as Kevin De Bruyne restored parity in the latter stages of the second half.

Liverpool were under pressure from City for large portions of the first half, but responded well after the interval to earn a hard fought point.

Salah admits that the draw was a fair result for both sides, despite wishing that he could say otherwise.
