Noel Gallagher blasts Little Mix's Best Group win at the Brits in foul mouthed rant

Noel Gallagher has hit out at Little Mix winning the Best Group accolade at last month's Brit Awards, saying they're "not in the same league as Oasis."

Nearly a decade on from their win on The X Factor, Little Mix made Brits history by becoming the first female act to take home the British Group trophy, succeeding where the likes of Spice Girls, All Saints and Girls Aloud has failed in the past.

The win stunned Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock and left their fans delighted. But one person not happy with Little Mix's victory in the coveted category is Noel.

At the height of their fame Oasis won six Brit Awards out of 18 nominations, most notably winning British Group and Album in 1996 after the huge success of (What's the Story) Morning Glory and then the Outstanding Contribution accolade in 2007.

Taking aim at Little Mix' s recent triumph, Noel told The Sun: "Little Mix, with the greatest respect, are not in the same league as Oasis. Not even in the same f***ing sport.

“It’s a symptom of the music business chasing the numbers — and there not being any bands or songwriters in those bands.

“Record company guys constantly say, ‘Oh, these guys are the real deal’. And I think, ‘You wouldn’t know the real deal if it f***ing bit you on the a*** mate’.

In their victory speech, Little Mix paid tribute to other female acts who'd been nominated for British Group at the Brits but didn't win.

After mentioning Spice Girls, All Saints, Sugababes and Girls Aloud, Leigh-Anne added: "It's not easy being a female in the UK pop industry. We've seen the white male dominance, misogyny, sexism and lack of diversity.

"We're proud of how we've stuck together, stood our ground, surrounded ourselves with strong women and are now using our voices more than ever."
