Noel Gallagher blames 'mid-life crisis' for divorce and fears for sons growing up

Noel Gallagher says he fears his teenage sons are not able to enjoy life like he and brother Liam did because the world is “too woke”.

The 55-year-old former Oasis star has two sons Donovan, 16, and Sonny, 13, with wife Sara MacDonald, 51, who he says he broke up with due to a mid-life crisis.

In a rant against “woke” Britain, he said his boys were unable to be as carefree as he and Liam, now 50, were growing up.

He said: “We were wild. We didn’t give a f***.

“They’re not as carefree. They’re shackled by the internet and wokeism and by living in a country where f*** all works.”

Noel, who also has a daughter Anais, 23, with ex-wife Meg Mathews, accused women of, little by little, eroding young men’s confidence. He said: “I’ve got two young sons and I feel anxious for young guys.

“They don’t really know how to behave with all this woke s**t that’s now foisted upon everybody.

“Angry, white middle-aged women telling young guys how to behave and all this b******s. I look at my sons and I have to put them in a headlock sometimes and say, ‘Don’t worry about these people, just be who you are’.”

Noel and Sara confirmed in January they are to divorce after 22 years together.

He said: “It’s not uncommon for people in long-term relationships to go their separate ways in their 50s. I know a lot of people in the same boat as me and Sara.

“The midlife crisis thing is true for men and women.”
