Noel Gallagher admits he applied for Irish passport 'immediately' after Brexit vote

Noel Gallagher has not held back when it comes to his opinions on Brexit.

He told the Manchester Evening News   in June: "There's only f***ing one thing worse than a fool who voted for Brexit. That's the rise of the c*** trying to get the vote overturned" before adding "if you don't like the outcome, go to North Korea."

But the former Oasis singer has made other plans for life post-Brexit... by applying for an Irish passport 'immediately' after the referendum vote.

Noel , who has previously said he didn't vote in the referendum, explained to the Irish Sun : "I applied immediately after the vote.

"I got it to make my life easier touring around Europe. But I'd always planned on getting one at some point."

The 52-year-old continued: "Could I see myself living in Ireland one day? Maybe. I'll live f***ing anywhere really.

"But I've got no plans to leave the country, we've only just moved out to Hampshire."

The Manchester-born singer made his feelings clear on the 2016 vote from the get-go.

He posted on Instagram at the time that it was a 'black day' and it seems his feelings haven't changed in the last three years.

But Noel isn't the only person wanting to seek a bit of the Irish way of life.

It was reported earlier this month that almost a million Irish passports were issued in 2019.

In four months out of the twelves, applications for the travel document exceeded 100,000.

Current rules allow those born to Irish parents or grandparents only to apply for the passport.

It does not mean both parents or grandparents as it is still applies if it is just one - as long as they were born in Ireland before 2005.
